London 1919 to 2019 a London historical street directory

The London site for 2019 and back to 1919, that's history, its what I do. This site is obviously about London history, and connects to my many pub history sites, but with a difference. There are many pages of street directories already complete which currently just link to pubs, now this site will make additional links to other interesting buildings in London; and obviously the massive street name changing that occurs through history, and the demise of complete streets through wartime bombing etc. etc.
I am starting this site with pages from my street directory on the pub history site, these will be substantially altered as I work through these pages. I am playing with colours of the text to discriminate between the 1921 directories which are as close to 1919 as I want to list and the additional information to add to the London history pages. On past performance, I am brilliant at adding detail, it just takes time, sometimes years.
Some areas are now decimated either through WWII or the London Councils clearing slums, these will need a different colour? I will make it up as I add detail.

I am fortunate that I already have masses of detail on my pub history pages, supplied by Stephen & Ewan, which details significant street name change detail through many decades. This detail is now to be re-transmitted back to a historical London street directory, slowly, and over time as I find it.

Street names index A - Z - this includes the rest

My plan, I continue to add pages to this street directory. Eventually it becomes an excellent resource. Simple. And more importantly, the pages are continually updated  to include old and new street changes.

And, a slight deviation from the original plan, a London street directory from 1832, compliments of Robsons

If you would like to contribute the amazing new project to map London over the last hundred years and more, please continue to read. What is needed is mainly details of when a London street was renamed, bombed, cleared, or tidied. Pictures are the best way of expressing anything, and a picture tells a thousand words. Also needed is those thousand words, or even fity words. Anything will be brilliant. Please help out before the London skyline is transformed for ever. What is needed, just an email to the Email the London team. We can do the rest; and you also get your name on the site, if this is OK.
